Battalion Staff is the collective name given to the certain ranks and appointment holders within the Battalion.

All members of the Battalion Staff, less the Pipe Major are entitled to wear a sword, but not to draw it. The only time a sword will be drawn by a member of the Battalion Staff is by the Regimental Sergeant Major, when the Battalion are providing the Escort to the Colour on the Queens Birthday Parade or during a Presentation of New Colours.

All the Battalion staff is entitled to wear the Staff Cap star (the same as all Warrant Officers) and the members that are not Warrant Officers, may also wear the Staff Peak to their forage cap.

Silk crimson sashes are worn by the Battalion Staff, as apposed to the scarlet sash worn by non staff Sergeants or Warrant Officers.

Battalion Staff attending Commanding Officers Orders are marched in after those in the Companies.

On Major Generals Inspections the Battalion staff form up separately and are inspected first, they are then dismissed.

The Pioneer sergeant is permitted to grow a full beard if he so wishes, and he invariably does.

The minimum rank to wear the accoutrements of Battalion Staff is Sergeant.
