The 24 hour clock is used by the Military
because it prevents confusion between the first and second 12
hours within the day, ie, 3 O`Clock and 15.00 hours.
Convert from the 12 hour clock to
the 24 hour clock:
In the morning the 12 hour clock
tells us how many hours after midnight it is, so the hours before
midday are exactly the same but written in the 24 hour format.
Complete this table, remember to add 12 hours that have passed
before midday.

Convert from the 24 hour clock to
the 12 hour clock:
All we have to do to convert
a time from the 24 hour clock to 12 hour clock is to reverse
the process. Again, we forget about the minutes and just work
with the hours. We have to treat times differently depending
on whether they are:
Before 1300 hours - in which
cas it stays the same.
After 1359 hours, ie, 1300 hours
or later - we take 12 (-) away.
